Goblin Valley State Park operates entirely off-grid. To support its remote infrastructure, Utah State Parks hired Creative Energies to design and build an off-grid power system that provides critical power to staff living quarters, the maintenance facility, and well pump operations. The 6.81 kilowatt solar system provides power for essential operations, and charges the 110 kilowatt hour battery bank. This high elevation desert site presented a number of design challenges including; high and low temperature extremes, complex trenching requirements, existing generator interconnection, and a unique load profile.
