Roadhouse Brewing Co joined forces with Creative Energies and Energy Conservation Works to up their environmental game. The entire Roadhouse operation is 100% renewable thanks to the combination of their 25.4 kW solar and other sustainable systems. The Nitrogen generator provides gas and offsets most of the CO2 needed to brew the beer. A natural cooling element allows the brewery to pull in cold air from the outside 6 months out of the year. Cheers to solar powered beer!

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH
Creative Energies partnered with Tracy Aviary to design and install a solar structure that would generate electricity and provide shade to visitors of the Flamingo exhibit. Creative Energies selected Spotlight Solar and their “Solar Trees” for the mounting structure. This unique project stands nearly 20′ tall. Each structure has two arms holding arrays which capture the sun throughout the day while offering shade to both visitors and birds.

The Creative Energies Solution
Project: State and ARRA Funded 165 kW Grid Tie Solar System, ground mounted & an additional 27 kW & 25kW Grid Tie Solar System, ground mounted, as well as a 4kW & 3kW roof mounted systems.

Creative Energies assisted the National Park gateway Town of Jackson, WY with their commitment to reduce their carbon footprint 10% by 2010. Creative Energies provided consultation and design services for multiple energy generation systems and was selected to design and install five separate grid connected solar systems. The first three systems were completed in 2008 and 2009. In the summer of 2010 Creative Energies built an additional 165kW system and a 25 kW system. The largest installation is located at the City Wastewater Treatment Plant and covers roughly an acre in solar panels. The solar array is ground-mounted and is interconnected with the facilities UV treatment building. Two other grid connected solar electric systems are mounted on the roof of a public restroom and on the elevator tower of a public parking garage. Creative Energies met all ARRA operating and reporting requirements.

The federal government provides a Business Energy Investment Tax Credit (ITC). The credit is equal to 26% of expenditures, with no maximum credit.

Renewable Energy Source
Solar energy is a truly renewable energy source. It can be harnessed in all areas of the world and is available every day. We won't run out of solar energy, unlike conventional sources of energy. Solar energy will be accessible as long as we have the sun - another 5 billion years. So, we’re good for now.
Reduces Electricity Bills
Since you will be meeting some of your energy needs with the electricity generated by your solar power system, your energy bills will drop. How much you save on your bill will be dependent on the size of the solar system, your electricity usage, and the utility rate you pay per kilowatt-hour. These savings come in two forms; the energy you did not need to buy because your solar powered your loads directly during daylight hours, and the value of excess generation during times that your system may have been producing more power than was being used at times during the day.
Solar energy can be used for a variety of purposes. You can generate electricity (photovoltaics) or heat (solar thermal). Soiling does reduce productivity a bit, so some owners clean their array a couple of times per year if it is in a safe and convenient location.Monitoring the system will help to catch any problems early so they can be addressed quickly. Most reliable solar panel manufacturers offer 20-25 years warranty. Most grid-connected solar power systems go years between service visits. So, after covering the initial cost of the solar system, you can expect limited spending on maintenance and repair work.
Technology in the solar industry is constantly advancing and improvements will intensify in the future. With each passing year, solar panel efficiency improves a bit while the power conversion electronics become more reliable and lower cost. Innovations in quantum physics and nanotechnology may even increase the effectiveness of solar panels.
Climate change, as caused by the emission of greenhouse gasses by humans in the last several generations, is the greatest challenge our world faces today. Solar is one of the best tools available to us to reduce, and eventually eliminate, the production of greenhouse gases in our electric energy generation. We can not waste a moment in the wholesale conversion of of our nation’s energy generation infrastructure.
