Compensation: Salary + Commission

Summary of Position:

The Technical Solar Sales position plays an important role as the face of Creative Energies and is often the first point of contact with future residential and commercial customers. Based out of our quaint ranch home office in Lander, WY, the Technical Solar Salesperson is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships while selling solar energy systems. The role includes a combination of time spent in the office and out in the field performing project site visits, planning solar power systems, participating in community events, and preparing new projects for processing and construction. A passion for renewable energy, a drive for work in sales, and an interest in understanding the technical side of solar will ensure success in this unique opportunity.

Duties:

Technical sales (85% of Time):

  • Generate leads and respond to customer inquiries
  • Meet with prospective customers, perform site visits, plan systems and preliminary solar design
  • Develop system proposals and cost estimates
  • Convert prospective customers to committed projects
  • Provide Project Manager with all information required to hand off newly-sold projects
  • Take lead role in RFPs and grant-based projects

Community Engagement (10% of Time):

  • Attend trade shows, fairs, and important public events in coordination with Marketing Manager
  • Perform public presentations on renewable energy and Creative Energies
  • Assist in development of marketing materials in conjunction with the Marketing Manager
  • Participate in community education and dialog regarding renewable energy
  • Enhance customer and partner relationships

Professional Development (5% of time):

  • Participate in courses and training as time allows

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Ability to develop trust through authenticity and honesty
  • Technical background or aptitude in solar PV design
  • Alignment with the Creative Energies culture
  • A commitment to excellent customer service from beginning to end
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with customers and partners
  • Competency in G Suite
  • Able to work comfortably and thrive in a self-directed environment
  • Ability and willingness to conduct property site inspections of electrical equipment, roofs, etc
  • Hold a valid driver's license

Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, engineering, or equivalent work experience

Travel and Work schedule:

The work schedule is generally 8-5 M-F, but there is flexibility to accommodate customer needs and project site visits. Occasional travel including out-of-state and overnight will be needed for training, team member meetings and to support Creative Energies team operations.

Approximately 15% of time will be spent traveling for sales work, meetings and training. Most travel does not require overnight stay.

Covid-19 Vaccinations:

All team members are encouraged to stay up-to-date on current Covid-19 vaccinations or complete them within 45 days of employment. Creative Energies provides paid time for team members to complete their vaccinations.
