Position Title: Commercial Solar Sales

Base Location: Salt Lake City, UT or within trade area

Classification: Full-Time Monday - Friday

Compensation: Base Salary + Commission (potential earnings over $100K in year one)

Summary of Position:

The Commercial Solar Salesperson is responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships as well as selling commercial renewable energy systems. They perform project site visits, plan solar power systems, and walk customers through the project development phase from project inquiry through to contracting. They maintain an active sales presence in the community and must be comfortable generating their own leads.

Duties:

Technical sales (80% of Time):

  • Generate leads and respond to customer inquiries
  • Meet with prospective customers, perform site visits, plan systems & preliminary design
  • Develop system proposals and cost estimates
  • Convert prospective customers to committed projects
  • Provide Project Manager with all information required to hand off newly-sold projects

Community Engagement (15% of Time):

  • Attend trade shows, fairs, and key events to generate leads
  • Perform public presentations on renewable energy and Creative Energies
  • Participate in community education and dialog regarding renewable energy
  • Enhance customer and partner relationships

Professional Development (5% of time):

  • Participate in weekly team meetings
  • Participate in training to stay up to date on new solar technologies and tools

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Proven track record of generating leads and selling solar projects
  • Ability to develop trust through authenticity and honesty
  • Technical background or aptitude in solar and related fields
  • Alignment with the Creative Energies culture
  • A commitment to excellent customer service from beginning to end
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with customers and partners
  • Competency in G Suite
  • Able to work comfortably, stay organized, and thrive in a self-directed environment

Education/Training:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, economics, engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Travel and Work schedule:

Individuals work with a flexible schedule Monday through Friday, coordinated with other team members. Occasional travel including out-of-state and overnight will be needed for training, team member meetings and to support Creative Energies team operations.

Approximately 10-20% of time will be spent traveling to project sites around Utah, mostly in Salt Lake county.

  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Reports to/Supervises:

Reports directly to the Sales Team Leader.
