The Challenge:
Jim is an electrical engineer who wanted to use renewables to meet his transportation and home electricity needs. Since Jim purchased a 2012 Nissan Leaf, an electric vehicle, he was interested in offsetting its electrical charging with energy from the sun.
The Creative Energies Solution:
We installed a 7.1 kW SunPower photovoltaic system for Jim, completing the project on his 1912 historic home's 100th birthday. The system has online monitoring for PV system output so Jim can see in real-time how much his system is generating. Annually, the system will produce over 10,000 kWh or about 70% of Jim's total electricity. With his Envoy monitoring, Jim can see how his Nissan Leaf is offset by his solar installation from his computer.

- SunPower 245 W modules
- 29 Enphase M210 microinverters with Envoy online monitoring
- Produces 10,000 kWh per year and saves 8,130 lbs of coal per year
